Quantum coordinated and faciliated a workshop to develop the Community Energy Action Plan for Greater Manchester and to write up the results into the Action Plan for the COALESCCE project and a summary for the Green Summit 2019.
We devised the event format,recruited speakers, produced an event pack and carried out marketing and participant recruitment. On 1 March 2019 over 60 people from community energy groups, Electricity Northwest, public and private sectors including local authorities and GMCA, social investors, commercial property developers, renewable energy installers, local and national charities and organisations contributed to the development of a Community Energy Vision and Action Plan for Greater Manchester.
Quantum used our sticky wall and other participatory methods to get everyone’s input and consensus for the plan. The early actions are now being delivered to set up a Community Energy Hub for the region, hold Buildings and Finance workshops and aim to scale the sector to deliver an ambitious 10% of the city-region’s target for renewables.
